Stansbury Animal Hospital Policies

Do I need to call ahead to make an appointment for my pet to be seen by a doctor?

Yes. We schedule by appointment only. To allow ample time for all patient examinations and scheduled surgical procedures, we operate strictly by appointment only. If your are late for your scheduled appointment, you will need to reschedule to our next available appointment. Emergency cases shall always receive top priority, which is why occasional appointment delay is inevitable. Please realize that we make a sincere attempt to see each client on time.

For your convenience, “drop-off” appointments are available by appointment only (limited availability). “Dropping-off” means you can bring your pet at a time we have available and leave him/her with us for a couple of hours. Usually we will ask you to “drop off” sometime in the morning so our doctors can examine. Once the doctor has completed his/her initial assessment, we will give you a call to go over the diagnostic and treatment plans based on the exam findings. If "drop-off" appointments are not available, it is because we have filled the appointment slot with "day of emergencies".  Please know there is a nationwide shortage of Veterinarians. If we cannot see your pet exactly when you want them to be see. We will give you options to other veterinary colleagues and/or facilities that might be able to help you. Emergencies will be referred to Critical Care facilities such as Blue Pearl, MedVet and Advanced Veterinary Care (AVC).  We care about our patient. We want them to get the best possible care they need.

What kind of payment arrangements do you offer?

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. For your convenience we accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express, Apple Pay and Cash. Checks will not be accepted.

Do I have to keep my pet on a leash or in a carrier?

YES. For your protection, and that of others, we require all dogs to be on a leash and properly controlled while in the waiting area or exam rooms.

All cats must be presented in an appropriate cat carrier or on a leash.

Although we make every effort to make our patients feel comfortable during visits, they may be a little uneasy around new people, new surroundings, and other pets. This is one of the reasons we ask you to restrain your pet. We recommend that pets be placed on a leash or in pet carriers before entering the building.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated if it stays in the hospital?

For the safety of ALL the animals in our care, we require that your pet’s vaccinations be up to date, especially if they are to stay for boarding, grooming, daycare, or drop-off appointments in our hospital.
